FAWCO TARGET WATER PROJECT

The Three Project Finalists Have Been Selected!

The yellow sands of the dunes stretch to infinity,
you're tired and thirsty and night is closing in.

Suddenly you have a vision of utopia:
starlit skies, palm trees, soft music, abundant food and drink.

No, it is not a mirage,
it's The FAWCO Foundation Oasis,
where you will be inspired to discover the mysteries of Midnight at the Oasis.

Bring your "Starybucks" to our hideaway casbah, as riches of the desert await you.
The journey will continue with our Silent and Live Auctions.

A treasure will be awarded to the traveler with unique local dress accents
(dressy or casual, let your imagination guide you).

FAWCO Foundation Friendship Quilt

"Celebrating Tradition"

moroccan tile

Instructions for the 2011 quilt are now available. Moroccan zillij tiles in the colors of jewels will create a beautiful Moroccan mosaic of cloth. We would like each FAWCO club to participate, as the money raised from the "Friendship Quilt" raffle will support our DGs and Awards.

The FAWCO Foundation Announces a New Partnership to Promote Post Secondary Education of Young Women from the “Lambs Project”

After two years of research, The FAWCO Foundation is pleased to announce a new program to further support young women in Burkina Faso wishing to pursue studies after high school.  We will work with Friends of Burkina Faso and NEEED (Nimbus, Enfance, Environnement, Education et Developpement, a local non-profit organization in Northern Burkina Faso) to create a fund for young women in at least three fields of study, one of which will be an academic university studies program.

The fund will be generated through donations, with a goal to disperse funds by 2011. The candidates will be selected by the Friends of Burkina Faso and their progress will be monitored on The Foundation’s website. A Donation Gift Certificate for the NEEED Scholarship is now available. Every dollar you give goes directly to this program and makes the perfect gift!

Our Work: A Snapshot

The FAWCO Foundation supports FAWCO and its network of over 75 member clubs by focusing their passion and commitment to aiding global concerns through philanthropic service. The Foundation’s two largest programs are The FAWCO Foundation Development Grants program which focuses on worldwide community service projects and The Education Awards program which supports the belief that education (both traditional and non-traditional) is the cornerstone of empowerment.

The FAWCO Foundation is committed to FAWCO’s support of the United Nations Millennium Goals and has assisted FAWCO in supporting their programs in aid of these goals.  In March 2009 at the FAWCO Conference, FAWCO and The FAWCO Foundation will announce The FAWCO Target Program, a focused strategy of education and project fundraising that will help to highlight an issue and look for ways to solve the problem and in doing so assist in attaining the UN Millennium Goals.

The FAWCO Foundation receives its funding through donations and fundraising.  Member clubs' donations may make them eligible to sponsor an Award or Development Grant.  The Foundation also holds fundraising events to support all of it philanthropic projects.  In addition, The Foundation encourages and accepts donations from corporations and organizations.
