New and Expanded Opportunities for 2027
This year's Education Award slate includes several important additions and updates.
- A new Women in International Relations, Political Science, and Health Science Award offers up to $5,000 for undergraduate or graduate study in these fields. The award is sponsored by AWC Hamburg and the friends and family of Carol Ann Battenfeld, in her memory.
- The Dual Cultural Award has expanded its eligibility requirements, opening the opportunity to more dual-cultural young people seeking an educational experience connected to their heritage. The Dual Cultural Award is open to children and grandchildren.
- The Open Learning Jackie Isler Memorial Award has also expanded, with eligible study now including non-university technical and vocational training, as well as other post-secondary programs leading to a certificate, diploma, or degree. The Open Learning Award is open to children and grandchildren.
- And aspiring writers have even more opportunity this year. The de Groot Foundation Literacy is our Legacy Aspiring Writers Award will now recognize three recipients: one $5,000 award and two $2,500 awards.
